GIMP Look Suite 1.0

GIMP Look Suite - a set of components for modifying of GIMP interface in Windows.

GIMP Look Suite 1.0 includes:

24 themes
User-friendly application for interface previewing and installation
5 splash screens

Installation

Before installing the latest GIMP Look Suite release make sure any older one has been removed.
It's strongly recommended to close all the running GIMP instances as well.

Download file GIMP_LookSuite1.0.exe and run it
Select a folder where GIMP is installed (usually: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0)

After the installation is complete, a Select a Theme for GIMP shortcut will appear on your Desktop. Also the GIMP Look Suite 1.0 folder will be added to the Windows Start menu programs group.

Theme selection

Step 1. Click on shortcut Select a Theme for GIMP on Desktop or click on shortcut GIMP Look Suite 1.0 > Select a Theme for GIMP in Start menu.
Theme Selector application will be runned.

Step 2. In the appeared application window select one of presented themes in Theme list. In the area Font you can set a property flag Use custom font to select a name and size of the font installed in your system.

note Attention

Under OS Windows to add the new custom fonts to GIMP it's not all the need to put them to the folder %WINDIR%\Fonts. To make the font applicable for using in GIMP it must be installed to the system.

Step 3. After selecting a theme and font, click OK button to finish installation. Accept the question in the appeared window. Reboot GIMP to apply the changes.

note Attention

Theme Selector - is one of the ways to install a selected theme. This way is the most simple and convient, because let you see the further program interface. But you can do the same by another ways. Those ways will be described soon.

Splash screen setup

Step 1. Splash screens can be found in folder \GIMP-2.0\GIMP Look Suite 1.0\Splash Screens or Start menu follow through the actions GIMP Look Suite 1.0 > Splash Screens.
Splash screens are in the folders which names corresponding to the GIMP releases in range from 2.4 to 2.7. The each screen is just a file with the name gimp-splash.png

Step 2. Chosen splash screen installation can be done by overriding of certain file gimp-splash.png to the folder \GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\images.

note Attention

In chapter "Splash screens" can be downloaded by a single pack. The pack contains screen templates in .xcf and .svg formats as well and necessary fonts.
